Another Villiers Terrace exclusive!

Echo and the Bunnymen
The Fillmore at Irving Plaza
New York, NY
May 2, 2010

This was a special trip back to see the Bunnymen, friends and family. The May 1st show was spent with my sister and a close friend who would not live out the remainder of the year. On the second day I was on my own at the show, so I was amped up. So much so that my bad singing comes through on occasion. Hence my never sharing this recording. The overall quality is very good, just forgive me in parts.

This is an example of the conflict I face: do I cut completely loose and thoroughly enjoy the show or act like a microphone on a stand for the best recording. I achieve something in between.

I listened to the recording for the very first time last weekend and enjoyed the two hours of music. Having as much tequila in me as that night in New York certainly made it feel like I was there all over again. Even though the truck stereo was blasting while standing outside late that night, none of the neighbors complained.

Ian seemed more engaged with the crowd the night before, but good performances both nights. Playing something different, Crocodiles and Heads Will Roll, was a treat.

Thanks for that. I'm very much looking forward to Heads Will Roll.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I was at that show too. One of the better ones over the past handful of years. Thanks for posting all of that.
