Now I'm guilty as acussed, for coming here and being rather negetive about all things Bunnymen

But as some of you know most of my comments are to provoke a reation. Athough of late I have not done much of this. It used to amuse me but some might say I have grown up a bit.

However I have noticed that recently almost all comments are negitive or are a blatent attempt to put someelses point of view down. I am not conviced that these remarks are made in the same vein as my insiped statements.

Have you noticed that what could be called "fans" of all things bunny have left this site. Why you ask well I met some the other week @ hoxton and they feel they have been cyber bullyed off.

So my question is why do you bother coming here or indeed keep up to date with all things Bunny.

Most other fan sites do nothing but praise their heros.

As we have evolved so have the Bunnys, we are not the same people were were in our youth and nether are the Bunnymen.

Face it how many of you have held the same job down, working with more or less the same people for 35 years.

Some of the new directions are not exactly to my tase, but following these guys and any side projects is much more than the music.

Its about the day out, meeting up with people, a night in hotel maybe, a few drinks and what ever.

The few songs albums that thay play off I don't like so much, seem to come across beter live , well for me they do.

So I guess my question really is why waste negetive energy, putting this band down on a majority of posts.

If some people enjoy it leave thenm to it.

Talking to Will last week @ Hoxton put things in perspective. He siad to me It's my Job some bits I like and some bits I don't, but the bills have to be paid.

The days of being maverick have been replaced by reponsibility.

Following the Bunnymen is a bit like supporting your favorite football team, nothing remains the same. Good seasons and bads seasons and players come and go.

I now sit back and wait for your acid tonges

I've found myself growing more negative towards the Bunnymen's output and Mac's solo work. I'm not enamored of Will's recent solo projects but it still feels like he's challenging himself which I appreciate and support.

Also I wouldn't know my ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to art but I enjoyed Will's artwork.

That said I've never had a problem with those who have a view of the Bunnymen's recent output that differs from mine.

I started this site in 2005 as a long time fan who thought that the official site was a bit lacking in content when Peter took over. Then the forum at the official site went down for the 5th time in so many months so I added a forum in 2007. People stayed here as any type of criticism of the Bunnymen was banned on the official site forum.
Over the last several years my interest in new Bunnymen output has waned with each release. There have only been a handful of post 2000 songs I can truly say I enjoy. I suppose I always remain hopeful that they will do something I like again. I have contemplated shutting this thing down so many times but people come here for different reasons, so it will stay for a while at least.

Thats it take the piss out of man who is dislexic and who has dispraxia. Yes there is spell check but the conditions stated maore often than not make me forget to use it.

Most of us who ventured into the world of Bunnymen sites old and new are "Geeky " on some level

I admit it. I orginally hopped that Bummymen sites and forums would lead me to finding those rare Bunnymen gems I was searching for.

For me getting them was like the golden fleece.

I have since stopped collecting all those obsuritys and those I had, I have given away as my "fandom" has wanned.

I mean what is the point of it all, one day soon when my time comes, the rats will invade my loft and throw the stuff into a skip anyway.

I have thought of selling it all but no one wants it anyway. I have seen items that cost me an arm and a leg go for relativly small sums of £ on e-bay and such like.

The rambling point is , what are fan sites really for?

People are just disappointed at the band's output over the last while.
