How many times have you watched the bunnymen?

Postby 5times » Fri Feb 22, 2013 7:45 am

My wife thinks I'm a bit of a head the ball because I've seen the bunnymen 11 times. First time philharmonic hall in 1984 and last one was the 2012 xmas gig. I said to her that it's not that many really, and there are people who have seen the bunnymen a lot more than me....

For a band that's been around 30 years that's not really that much especially if you are in in the UK. I've seen them 6 times since 1987 and I am in the US. Some people have followed them on tour like Deadheads or something and have seen them dozens and dozens of times.

I was at that gig too! I'd seen them a few times before that and I don't know how many times I've seen them since, more than I can remember obviously, I decided to retire from live shows after the Christmas gig in 2007, same show, same songs, same order bleh, had enough of the Greatest Hits set now with Mac usually looking like he'd rather be washing the dog or something (anything) rather than be singing The Killing Moon for the gazillionth time.
I did reappear for the Crocs/HUH gig in Liverpool but I doubt I could be arsed going to see them again.

Seen 'em 3 times, and I reckon I've covered it all.

Oxford 2009: Supporting The Fountain, [s]I mean greatest hits set[/s]
Oxford 2010: Crocs/HUH - One of the best shows ever!
London 2011: Ocean Rain - The night before the meltdown!

Did think about saving up to see them with James, but then realised I only like 2 or 3 of James songs.

Also tempted by the Albert Hall show with Primal Scream, untill I relalised that Bobby G is the same, near enough, age as Mac and Will yet everyone seems to think he's about 33!!

12 times I think, first time in Ipswich during 1983, last time was at the London Palladium in September 2011. I've seen Mac solo a couple of times too.
Best gig was at the London Kilburn Ballroom in the mid 80's.

Including Ian Mc solo stuff and a glide show I think I'm up to 38 or 39 times now or there abouts. My first was 4th October 1997 in Manchester.

Has anyone seen the Bunnymen/Mac more times than Dave Smith? Serious questin/poll.

I've done about 25 I reckon which makes me an amateur. That's nearly a month of my life - Dave is heading towards a year
