Which is better, being stabbed in the eye or the throat?

Eye. You can hide the damage with cool-ass shades that others will want to imitate. It's better to ruin one's throat with alcohol, cigarettes and other indulgences.

I've always disliked "Proxy" but Ian singing "Me and David Bowie" is far worse. David Bowie had some unusual sexual habits, so what is Ian implying when he's singing about himself and David Bowie? Was it really about David being a mentor while growing up, or something more that he has yet to share with us?

I would agree with others who have posted recently that Ian's solo career is going nowhere.

I must say in Mac's defence (Although for the life of me I don't know why)

His solo stuff performed live and acoustically is pretty dame fine, but for some reason it does not come across so well on CD

I agree KoK, I have to say I still quite like the album but the live show at the Epstein Theatre was on a different level altogether, if only he could transfer that fire he has in the live shows to his cd releases. Happy to see that Broudie is still onboard for the live shows.

I don't know, Me and David Bowie makes me actually cringe with the lyrics and bad melody.

Who on earth decided to mention Proxy again? There was a blanket ban on words like that here.

Mr Brian delete anyone who starts a thread about Proxy's account.

This is the first time I've heard the Me and Bowie song, and may I say it's one of the funniest songs I've heard for quite a while. It's a giant middle finger to Bowie, right? No way it's a tribute.

It's a lousy song, but really funny. Thanks!

Exactly what you think he's implying.

I'm joking of course, I got to have self humour since I like both songs so I need to laugh about it before anyone else does. I don't love everything Ian ever did, it's just that I really don't think these two are the worst offenders.

Both songs might be better if he sang them in his 81-84 era voice.

Both songs might be better 'sung' in the style of Marcel Marceau.
