It's my understanding that, to be on a "number ones" album, you have to have had a "number one" single.

or did you mean why didn't the Bunnymen cover another Liverpool act for this?

Have China Crisis ever had a number one single? Seems a bit of a naff album, Bunnymen or not. Couple of decent acts on there, but Atomic Kitten, Liz McClarnon, Natasha Hamilton, Sonia Evans, Anthony Hannah. It's a bleedin' X Factor tribute album. Is this Liverpool's legendary music scene? Me thinks not. It's another Christmas Nativity, but this time it's on CD.

These are all number one singles covered by scouse acts (some odd choices).

It seems more pop orientated than rock orientated (i.e no Zutons, Coral, Dead 60's etc) which is probably why Mac gave it a miss.

Still, its got Thomas Lang so it cant be all bad.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

That's what I was trying to convey. Apparently, not clearly enough.
I thought the "what no bunnymen" rant was about nobody covering a bunnymen tune, to begin with - that's why I'd mentioned they'd never had a #1.

As for the Bunnymen appearing on the album - Come on, people...
Do we really need to hear them cover another Beatles song?
Because that's the only chart-topping Liverpool act that Ian would ever consider covering, despite the likelihood that this strange crowd might want to hear him have a go at "Relax".

"Frankie say NO THANK YOU"

All that build up, just to crowbar in that punch-line?

Piss poor.
