It says "This video contains content from Channel 4, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds."

Hope it works elsewhere (seems odd given Channel 4 is in the UK, where I live). Luckily, I have already watched it and nearly choked myself to death... come in my eye.

It works in the U.S., too. Thanks bunnybunny!

What did you find so funny, GOGP? Rather ordinary and predictable sex humor if you ask me. It does prove Ian can't act, or even read a teleprompter very well. Good stuff.

Clearly, your sense of humour is different to mine then. I thought it was hilarious. I'd love to see an example of less ordinary and less predictable "sex humour", as you term it, come from your side of the pond... can't think of anything really recent to be honest.

We have HBO and MTV's Jersey Shore, so I don't find words like "come" and suggestions of anal sex hilarious. I did chuckle at the two guys standing over the burning body. Perhaps it was the expressions on their faces. Hard to say.

I thought Ian looked lovely in the clip. It shows he still has beautiful skin under his usual horrible scruff of a beard.

You don't need to defend the British humouuuur, GOGP. No one over here found Benny Hill funny either.

Benny Hill? Is that your idea of the best of British comedy?

I don't need to defend British comedy. We make the best comedy in the world. Fact.

Well, if you ignore some of the 70s and 80s sitcoms, and of course, Benny Hill.

Hmm. Maybe.

Who are all of the possible contenders? I would say:

A) The British
B) The Americans

Are the British the best out of those two? Hard to say because there are stylistic differences and also because each influenced the other. Certainly both have produced great comedic works and talent of the highest order.

(I did not break out Canada as a separate entitity because the great Canadian talents have by-and-large made it in the American market.)

As Jack has pointed out, the best "American" humour is in fact Canadian.

British comedy was generally piss poor until new stuff was being tried out on radio during the 1950s that was pushing the boundaries, at least for our rather reserved form of broadcasting. If it had not been for The Goon Show, I doubt we'd given the world Monty Python as British comedy switched from radio to television. Ironically and a demonstration of how British comedy can be both good and bad. While Cleese, Idle et al were at Cambridge performing with Cambridge Footlights, so were Tim Brooke-Taylor, Bill Oddie and Graeme Garden. Who did they form? The Goodies, British comedy near its worse. That show was dire. Then there's all that oo-er missus Carry On stuff during the 60s and 70s, which is really bad and resulted in some really terrible sitcoms on British TV. I guess with American comedy, it's been more about film than on TV, as it is here.

I'd say right now British comedy is poor though, there's nothing. Frankie Boyle is about as good as it gets, that and Psychoville, which is just a darker version of Monty Python really. I really can't think of any great American shows at the moment, perhaps there is nothing being shown over here. Family Guy, that's about it on UK television.

Maybe for the sake of the argument, call it a draw. Besides, the greatest comedy act of all time was one Yank and one Brit wasn't it? And no "sexual humor" in sight unless you were left wondering why they were in bed together so much and never seemed to get on with their on screen wives.

Mr. Show is my all time favorite comedy act and I get the feeling most of you on the forum would dig it too followed by (in no particular order):

The Young Ones
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Flight of the Conchords
First three seasons of Absolutely Fabulous
Chappelle Show
Kids In the Hall
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
