Did I really read...

...the Bunnymen performed at some dude's wedding?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I can't remember where (or even if) I read it for sure. It just popped in my head today. That and the scene in the Naked Gun with Ricardo Montalban and Leslie Nielsen.

Vincent Ludwig: Inspector Drebin, welcome.
Frank Drebin: The feeling is mutual.
Vincent Ludwig: Nice to meet you too... (He offers Drebin some cigars) ... Cuban?
Frank Drebin: No, Dutch-Irish, my father was from Wales.

They were approached several years ago to play the wedding of some Nascar driver who's a huge fan.

I don't know if that ever materialized, but I bet they would, if the price were right (standard gig fees plus transportation, etc).

$20,000 would do it, I'd imagine

Even if they did it at least they didn't take money from a dude who made his fortune selling defective bullet proof vests for the soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I'm in the La Puente chapter. We meet Thursday nights at the Catholic Church on Glendora after Bingo.
