maybe:

he's got a girlfriend and she's putting the squeeze on his collectables
he's got a proper job/been promoted and just doesn't have the time
he's been sacked but is playing the loyal subject by 'just moving on to pastures new'
he's won the lottery and doesn't need th volumes of hard cash any more
its the bunnymen's reaction to the credit crunch
they've found a younger, more talented and lets face it, better looking chap to, er, fill his shoes
he's got a horrible disease and doesn't want to spend his last few months on earth asking 'how high' when mac says jump
he is getting on in years and that teapot is starting to get heavy
he's got his own band to promote
everyone moves on sooner or later
theres a whole new phase of bunny action about to descend and getting rid of some dead wood is, harsh as it may seem, best for 'the music'
they're really good friends but just can't live together
its just time, you know, like, er, its run its natural course, its not them - its him, kinda like, er, nothing ever lasts forever. know what I mean?
cos he got broke and pinched the cash (which might exlain ebay huh?)
for some reason found himself paying the bills and quite FRANKly couldn't afford to pay them, and no suitable solution was forthcoming from the bunnycamp (see above).

Official band websites are dinosaurs.

I think about all the stuff that we had to host because there was no other way to provide the content to fans and prospective fans.

video: youtube
audio: youtube, last.fm, pandora, slacker, blip.fm
pictures: facebook, flickr, photobucket
interaction: facebook, twitter, youtube, flickr, photobucket
news: facebook, twitter

There's no need to host all this stuff in a walled garden, when there's a better chance at growing your audience if you actively participate on social networking sites - and if you allow the conversations and postings to happen organically, without censoring them or posting 'fake-fan' shill posts, you should see some success.

Honestly, if social networking sites had been around back when I was running bunnymen.com, I would've still done the fun flash animated site intros that I used to do, but I would've linked offsite for everything else.

You had to pay for some exceeded bandwidth out of your own pocket didn't you? Or it came close. I remember helping you move media files to another server or something like that.

I had to pay for exceeded bandwidth out of my own pocket for 5 months running (one month I had to pay twice). Not that it excuses my sticking my hand in the cookie jar, but I think I broke about even in doing so.

Didn't Peter move the Bunnymen site to a server he kept under his bed? I don't think he had to worry about overage. He just had to worry about his mom busting into the bedroom when he was busy... uh... maximizing his bandwidth.

Yes, that was supposed to be a euphemism for jerking off.

What is with the having to have their own servers for Bummymen.com anyway like it's some corporate company. Seems a bit overkill for a site with what ten pages, even if it is Flash heavy and makes the fan on my computer whirl and hum like nobody's business as it can't handle it. Find a cheap company and be done with that. Use Wordpress or my first webpage.com (if one exists) for the website. Host the vids on You Tube, the songs on Myspace, Flickr for the pictures. Bollocks to it.

Oh shit we can't talk internet stuff can we. I think someone said before it was the most boring thing they'd read so ignore my post.

Does that mean what I think it means?

I got the squeeze on my collectables once in a men's public toilet in Epping Forest. Not as nice as a girl putting the squeeze mind you.

Wouldn't that be his "unmentionables"?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
