The single that never was. I suppose it's something for the collector, hence its steep price. I wouldn't want it though - £40!

Odd some of these e-bay auctions - I was about to sell my copy of Avalanche on e-bay and then noticed someone else selling it in the past week. After that last auction (was it £150 the final bid?) this one had a reserve price of just £50 and didn't get one bid. I appear to have some mint Bjork rarities that might do better than the Bunnymen other than individually against the Swedish Get In The Car CD, so.

This is a bit steep as well, especially as it is the 25th anniversary remaster signed by Mac and Will in 2005 - the same event I got copies of Stormy Weather and Siberia signed at as well.

I think it's better selling rarities individually. The rest, depending on condition, in bulk. I don't know. I think e-bay charges a fee for listing so if you are selling one single at £1, it's hardly worth it even if you add the buyer's P&P. I have been going through e-bay to see what they have as I want a clear out, particularly the vinyl that is never played anymore and wasn't played much at the time. They are probably only worth £20 a piece but get them together and it's a nice tidy sum.

Judging by the rest of the album, it sounded like a single, you know radio friendly, more guests doing something or other to keep up with what the kids want (Fun Lovin' Criminals like Liam Gallagher on NLF), naff title so it'd be played in the background on Football Focus, or more appropriately Top Gear to later feature on a Jeremy Clarkson (mimics voice) "TOP 20 SONGS TO DRIVE YOUR CAR TO" album. I guess the second single possibly with Fools Like Us as the third, but why it was released in Sweden has always been a mystery to me. I thought at the time they had got the single release the wrong way round. Get In the Car should have been the first single with Rust after that.

Was there a single that never was on The Fountain? Hmmm... and they chose Think I Need it Too. That never was, nor was the rest of the album.

This single and the original pressing of Avalanche seem to be the two items that consistently fetch a high price on eBay. I'm sure I've seen them both sell for $100 on more than one occasion.

Use of irony? Where is Wojo? He's got a way with the Queen's English, no?
