A rare optimistic statement from me:
I guess the fact that different record companies will still bank on selling compilations of the back catalog to make some money is a good thing for everyone. It keeps the name out there for people who may have forgotten about them. The hardcore fans will always want more b-sides, rarities and new songs. The casual 80's fan doesn't give a shit about any of that.

I usually buy these compilations for the pictures.
But logistically, if the songs didn't sell these mongrol record labels wouldn't bother licensing them. And doesn't this help pay off any debt the band may still have with Warners?
