Give Me A Top Ten List

Postby Sick4Tunz » Thu Mar 04, 2010 8:21 am

In an earlier post I said I’d take KOK’s poem of disappointment and make an effort to get it into Ian’s hands at the next available opportunity. What I’ve done so far is slap a pair of EATB photos on the two side of a single page and paste KOK’s verse on one side. But then I thought why limit it to this lament, why not turn this into an opportunity to offer constructive suggestions for improvement that might stop and perhaps reverse their fans downward slide into depression.

So the challenge to you all is to come up with ideas on what Ian and the band must change in order to reinvigorate their image amongst the core believers, e.g., let more of Will’s sound shine through, vary the set list, etc. I will then take the 10 best suggestions and paste them on the reverse side of KOK’s poem. Once folded origami style into a tight package, I will take it the show and either fling it on stage or find some means of hand delivering it to the intended target. We will have two chances, at Coachella and New York.

This is one way of causing change that’s more effective than what feels like pointless complaining amongst the posters/readers of this forum.

This forum has always been a place where people could vent since it was verboten on the BOF. It is always easier to complain than to praise but it seems there has been very little to praise lately however there have been a number of things to be very happy about over the last 12 years or so as I stated here:

You realise Mac will just use it to light his next ciggie?
And you know that I'll pick up
Every time you call
Just to thank you one more time

The whole NYC Ocean Rain experience was fucking amazing. I probably would have never visited New York if it weren't for the Bunnnymen. All you fuckers here are like my second, slightly more dysfunctional family. All thanks to the Bunnywunnymen (and Mr. Brian).

My frustration comes from my belief that they are not challenging themselves (this is not code for "staying in the 80's") and that Mac needs help. Otherwise count me in.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
