I love that "music has to move forward" bit. Yes indeed, I totally agree, that is why I'm seeking out more interesting, current bands and musicians.

Of course it does, except in a live environment where any movement beyond 1987 is generally frowned upon.

As long as I get to hear Turin Shroud live, I am fine.

it depends. I think that if you go over a shortish time limit then you have to pay a royalty, otherwise you can get away with it, but i think the rules may be different for different types of media, and obviously by territory. Why would that be obvious? I dont know. I spent a short time in the music business a few years ago, in the royalties department of a well known massive entertainment company and all i can remember is that while their system was being demonstrated up popped the figure of about 6K for a song written by an unkown bloke that didn't have any other songs with them. It was called Miss You Nights - you know theone?, cliff?. The slightly embasrrassing thing was nobody but me knew why this unknown bloke might make a wad of cash for a song that nobody else had heard of. Must get away from these 'had to be there' anecdotes mustn't I?

and what about all that bollocks from mac about wanting to go in the studio as soon as there was a spare nanosecond, with the band and stuff? or had he been on the pop again when he did that interview?

This is Peter Allen talking out of his ass again. He thinks he's part of the decision making process, but he's just a toad.

Notice his self-important claim: "I think I said on the old forum that I had the original demos from The Fountain, and boy do they sound different."

He's only kept around because he does the website for free. He knows shit.

Maybe Diva should kiss him?

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
