ANOTHER new official forum??

In case you didn't get in your email, here it is. I underlined some of the important stuff. Was it the Fountain of Barf font? Hmm...

Echo & The Bunnymen are pleased to bring you a brand new & much improved Bunnymen.com forum.

This will replace the current forum.

The new forum is live at the moment and we would love to see you over there as soon as possible.

We have made some major changes and we feel that this will provide a far better user experience.

Obviously a lot of you will have a few issues with us having to close the old forum and hopefully the Q&A below will answer any questions you might have.

Q: Will I be able to transfer my membership over to the new forum ?

A: Sorry that will not be possible due to the fact that the old forum used a different kind of database.

Q: Who had the idea of changing a very successful forum ?

A: It was a joint decisions made by the Bunnymen, USA & UK management & also the USA media marketing team.

Q: Will we loose all the great posts that have been created ? (Poor Moonies!!!)

A: Again yes you will due to the database issue.

Q: How long does it take to sign up for the new forum ?

A: About 2 mins.

Q: I have been banned for inappropriate use from the old forum can I use this new one ?

A: This was discussed at great length and we all felt with it being a New Year lets have a new start and welcome all new & old members to the new forum.

Q: What happens if I post something anti Bunnymen ?

A: The Bunnymen Forum is a place to promote and discuss in a positive way the music and news created by the band. It is not a place for being negative. If this does not fit with what you require from a Official Echo & The Bunnymen Forum then this is not the place for you.

Q: Could you just not adapt the current forum to be better ?

A: We have been let down in a very big way by the company that produces this forum and have decided to take our business away from them.

The new company (2headedgeek) are a very professional company who we have worked with on different projects.

Shame it's a new forum though, it'll mean that half a dozen people will have to start new threads on "your favourite Bunnymen song/album/b-side/gig/member" again to fill up the pages.

Look at this! http://www.bunnymen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=14 A load of creepily condescending posts praising The Fountain, calling it the "Best album since "What are you going to do with your life" and "better than Siberia." and one token "I'm not sure If I like The Fountain" quickly contradicted by a gushing "fan."
The BOF is now like The Stepford Wives. Ah, now I get it. Mac has hacked into the BOF and erased all the real posts. Now all the new posts are really generated by a chatbot programmed to simulate fans praising his worst musical atrocities.

This just in from Bunnymen HQ: A decsion was made promptley by the American management and media marketing team in the situation room, composed of an eight-man panel, the chairman and Hiliary.

There were some other issues to discuss lower down on the agenda, particularlery a need to increase security at airports and men's underwear stores following the failed smoking y-fronts bombing, but the panel all agreed that it was important to world peece to create the new forum as soon as possible.
