Last night (Sat) was good. I'd taken my 10 old year old son along (he was the one in the green Bunnymen cap if anyone saw him!) and we were at the front for the first half of the gig. I agree with Smithy (other thread) on the opening of Rescue, Will ripped into his Fender Jag and it was an awesome start. Mac was pretty animated, some dancing! Watched the second half of the gig from further back of the room and there were some songs (including Killing Moon and Shroud of Turin) where Mac had a bit of a ramble, but it was difficult to make out what he was saying so I'll have to search out a recording.

It was a decent show but not quite up to the Ritz performance in November. Walked back to the hotel with my kid through the (mostly pissed!) Christmas revellers, and Liverpool is still magical.
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

Went to the Korova Friday night while Will DJ'd and I had a blast. Shots of tequila for only 1 pound?! Line'em up! I spent more time dancing with the locals than paying attention to who else may have been in attendance, but I think Gordy and Stephen were also there.

Went to Stage 2 Saturday night after running around central Liverpool to find it. Was it on Paul Street, Pall Street or was it Parr Street? A street clown finally told me where it was. Will was DJ'ing and Stephen, Gordy and Nick were there, all of whom I spoke with briefly. What I was told is this:

They don't colloborate on song writing because that means having to share the profits.

Wished they could be making more money on the gigs.

Rumor has it they will resume the canceled North American tour sometime in March or April. Cross your fingers.

Lucky! You got a signed set list AND you got the other. How cool. Did you mention it to Will about the other thingie 25 years to get it signed?

I'm hoping they will come back to LA!

The rest of the band don't seem to be high on Mac. They've made some less than flattering comments before. How did this topic come up?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Being an manager, I made a comment about having to work together as a team to produce their best, to which the first remark was made.

I said something that elicited a response, shaking his head, about wishing they were making more money.

When he learned that I was from the US, I was told that "You didn't hear it from me but..." they'll be coming back in the spring.

I was invited to send a message to Nick Kilroe's My Space/Facebook page but all I can find is the page for The Black Velvets. Any one have a clue as to where his page may be? This is the kind of stuff I should be asking my 15 year old daughter about. Only for the Bunnymen.

It's a shame there is no real camaraderie. It would probably make for better albums and gigs. Why give it your all if there isn't a whole lot in it for you?

I suppose they could go out on their own and see where that gets them.

I'd be pissed though. Like you're willing to share songwriting royalties with three dudes in London but not us?

I can tell from that setlist that a new album must've come out.

What was the reason again why the Bunnymen still make albums? I forget.

I suppose it's a steady paycheck. I also suppose that they might be trying to get bands going on the side or actually have them going. It does get ou noticed if you do a good job or bad job and hang in there with people who are KNOWN to be difficult.
