Man he's saying the right stuff about getting louder and toughening up, but the songs just don't seem right for that kind of treatment.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

And no mention of Will.

Anyone think Mac would continue as Echo & the Bunnymen even if Will left?

I think he would. There does not appear to be much collaboration going on and he does Bunnymen songs at his solo shows. He could call it...

And to save money, reuse the grey album's cover but photoshop out Will's, Les's and Pete's faces. Why not.

I think the only thing that would stop him from using the name by himself would be the fear of being called out by the press. I don't think it's out of respect to Will. In fact, I'm sure he still harbors some resentment from them carrying on without him for Reverberation.

I think he harbors a lot more resentment over the fact that his solo career has never really taken off otherwise there's no way the Bunnymen ever would've gotten back together.
