SUX MAJOR

The song "Life of 1,000 Crimes" from the album The Fountain by Echo & The Bunnymen, right?

It absolutely sucks! If you like tracks 6-8 on WAYGDWYL -- then this song is for you. Absolute crap. I heard the song via an album link. YUCK!

Life of 1,000 Crimes is alright and is catchy, which makes a difference. More in your face than say Proxy or Drivetime. I'm with Zimbo - although I'm still to hear Everlasting fully, plus I'm undecided about The Fountain, which sounds like it was recorded in a toilet. I get the feeling based on the sound of the songs I have heard is that The Fountain needs to be turned up very loud to do it justice.

Everlasting is my favourite track off the album, Proxy on the other hand is an absolute turd, what were they thinking! I have to admit the more I listen to the album the more it's growing on me but the main problem I have is that a lot of the songs seem to consist of an extended chorus without much to back them up. There's not much of Will to be heard either and some of Mac's lyrics are wince inducingly embarrassing.
I read a comment on another thread that this would be a great Mac solo album and I have to agree, as a Bunnymen album though it's severely lacking, like I said elsewhere it's pleasant and inoffensive pop music - not what I want from a Bunnymen album.

Yeah, that's exactly how I have come to think of it - pleasant and inoffensive. It is neither bad or really good.

We'll let this one slide, but I don't want you taking that tone about the post 97 Bunnymen again.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Shoot. I thought this was going to be an astronomy thread. Sux Minor can usually be seen quite good this time of year which had me all confused as everyone knows that Sux Major can only be seen in the summer months in the western sky.

Ok - redgumball - you be nuts - this has to be one of the more creative tunes EATB has come up with in a long while. The rhythm guitar right off the bat is something totally different for them. The backing vocals are fun and really well done. The drums - a track where the drummer gets to shine -

It is is just a really good song.
