B-Sides And Live (2001 - 2005)

Just in time for Christmas. But it looks like a download only thing.

I have mixed feelings about it being download only but it could be an affordable way to get those Flowers b-sides. I hope the price is reasonable since it is download only. I think currently to get those on a CD they are 5 dollars + shipping for each CD single.

Judging by this, they will be 89 cents for each track...

Who knows, there may be an option to get it on CD.

Somewhere on the site I saw a total price of $8.99 (or $0.89 per download).

I haven't bought or downloaded any mp3s from Amazon.com, yet. I think they're trying the you bought it, you own it method of downloads, rather than the licensed-based method. Maybe I'll buy the Stormy Weather HMV Live track they have available to see how it works and how many computers/devices the song can be installed on.

I'll keep you posted.

hurrah! chance to own more version of the same tracks...oh sorry i fell asleep
A kite is a contract of glory
that must be made with the sun,
so you make friends with the field
the river and the wind,
then you pray the whole cold night before,
under the travelling cordless moon,
to make you worthy and lyric and pure.

I know what you mean with another Killing Moon and Nothing Lasts Forever etc, but many people have never heard the Flowers b-sides. Flowers was the last time the Bunnymen put out some killer b-sides, in fact many feel the b-sides were better than the album tracks. It would have been nice if they threw in something unreleased like another lo-fi lullaby version of a song that was promised back then. There must be another one recorded. Or a demo or something.

At least it's not another compiliation of the same old same old. Some of the live versions have never been released (to this point). And it's on Cooking Vinyl. So it's not a music club release. And since it's not on Warner's, I have a feeling the band will not recognize this release either.

And even though it's a download only thingie, I like the way we can pick and choose which tracks to buy. I have the Flowers b-side already, but not all of the live tracks. And who doesn't like to have yet one more version of The Killing Moon.....

Supposedly a best of from 2001 - 2005, but mostly recent B-sides from Siberia and a few from Flowers.

Grateful to get Marble Towers and Scratch the Past, along with a few others (Make Me Shine Acoustic and Ticket To Ride). I will probably split for the whole thing, as it will add to the ever growing collection.

What happened to some of these other songs? Because the rights are spread over a few different labels, are they simply missing? Perhaps some are pre 2001?

Colour Me In
Antelope
Jonny
Watchtower
Polly
Hurricaine
Forgiven (live acoustic)
The Fish Hook Girl
See The Horizon
Sense Of Life
Beyond The Green
Hang Onto A Dream
Avalanche
Make Me Shine (Monitor Mix)
Make Me Shine (Brazilian Radio Session)
Stormy Weather - Live HMV Session

It's a Cooking Vinyl release. Evergreen was in 97 and WAYGTDWYL was in 99. They signed to Cooking for Flowers.

The Live HMV Session of Stormy Weather is available at amazon.com for download on its own.

What is your source for the Make Me Shine mixes? I mean, how do you know there's a "monitor mix" of the song?

What I don't get is why is it only available on amazon.com and not on amazon.co.uk? Is this mp3 download thingie new to Amazon and they might roll it out to us lesser mortals in due course?
