Crap in the Fountain

Postby King Of Kings » Mon Jul 20, 2009 11:08 am

May sound better live sandwiched inbetween the classics.

This might be the worst offering yet

Don't mean to be so critical about my fav band, but after the wait it sounds more like McFly

Mac you have hammered the last nail in the coffin

This is not a bunnymen album its another Mac Album

If this were a Mac solo album (based on the samples) I think this would have gone over better with the fans.

Certainly. The remaining five tracks of the album might be classics, but these four tracks are extremely disappointing given the wait since The Fountain was originally announced.

Jumping to conclusions is much more fun though.

Got over that a long time ago.

I have'nt got a problem with the band, Dunno what make you think I did

I just think that the Management could do better and in the very least honour any promises they make.

As for my Judgement, it only takes 30 seconds of any record for me to decied if I like it or not.

But hey were all different and thats what makes the world go round. I'm not here to make friends.

Me, I think it's ok. Some on here were always going to say it was shite, whatever it sounded like.

Ha, that's funny KOK! That's like a line from one of those bad reality dating shows. "I'm here for Brett Michaels, I'm not here to make friends".

On to the songs... I voted undecided, because I would like to hear the rest of the song first, just like with I Think I Need it Too, that snippet just doesn't represent the whole song. Proxy is definitely the weird one - the piano is a bit odd and I agree with everyone else on the "oo-woah- ooo-woah" and "woo-woo" = bad, it's distracting. I do like Drivetime from what I heard so far.

People are always more predisposed to say it's shite if it actually is shite. I'm not sure if it's shite or not at the moment (although I suspect that it is), the snippets we've been privvy to don't sound particularly inspiring and at the moment I think the general feeling is one of tremendous disappointment.

I just had a thought, maybe the song Proxy is meant to be taken literally:

prox·y (prŏk'sē)
n. pl. prox·ies
A person authorized to act for another; an agent or substitute.

So they had someone else write the song...that explains it!

One final grasp at pop stardom?

I said it was OK, I don't know what people were expecting, it sounds pretty standard Bunnymen, some say shite, I say it's not so bad. I do think The Fountain is a good song, which gives me a bit of hope to cling onto that the album may still be quite good.
