The Gil Norton Grey Album Tapes

Postby withahip » Mon Jan 19, 2009 6:31 am

Were the Gil Norton tapes of the grey album destroyed? Or are they the bootlegs of the album floating around? I bet there was something good on those taps if they were destroyed by the label and Latham was brought in in order to gain mass appeal to the U.S.

Sales of albums out of the norm in the U.S. show a music buying public wanting so much more than the watered down please everyone all the time product bands are angled into putting out.

I think a link or two was passed around this forum for some Grey album demos. Are they the ones your looking for or wrong producer?

Now that I think about it, I think someone on the official forum had them and if you PM'd them they sent you a link. It was the member who had Andy Warhol looking avatar. I can't remember their user name.

If they are the ones I heard they are nothing to fuss over - unless you love the grey albums songs and want demos.

If it isn't those I definitely want to hear them.

They didn't change my life or anything but it was very interesting to listen to. I'm sure Frank has them somewhere, right?
