Two things that make the Bunnymen great...

1. Just the right balance between vulnerability and murderous aggression.
Examples: Timebomb, Baseball Bill (Avalanche version track 8) ,Razors Edge, All I Want

2. Call and reply style counterpoint, between all four in the original band.
Examples: I'll Fly Tonite, No Dark Things, Angels & Devils, In Bluer Skies.

Most alternative bands I have seen fall down on one or the other, and even the Bunnymen lose their powers when they depart from this formula.

3. best bassist in the world
4. best guitarist in the world
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'll put Pete up against anyone.

Let's not get carried away here. That is the Phil Collins.
