Actually the "new" Smashing Pumpkins don't do badly with it. It's Billy that screws it up.

I'd credit Seal for his cover though -- at least he hasn't done a cover that sounds exactly the same as the original and has tried to put his own sound to it. That Smashing Pumpkins version sounds like a weakened live version of the original.

The winner of the worst "Lips Like Sugar" cover version remains with Coldplay. The vocals are awful.

The guitar playing was a bit interesting with the Pumpkins. Only that. I've seen them live twice - they are good live - but subtlety is not Corgan's forte.

Oh, come on... you mean a 12 foot tall shiny-bald dude wearing a floor-length aluminum-foil skirt isn't subtle enough for you?

I thought the Smashing Pumpkins did a decent job with the song. Corgan doesn't have a great voice, but most people can't measure up to Ian.

Thanks withahip, you're the best poster on this forum. I don't care what Jack and Red say.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Right. That's why you call us crying every night.

Your loose lips make me wish I never agreed to keep your hemorrhoid problem a secret.
