How strange that Jack now sides with Ian on a most misguided rant that Ian has made in public.

This is a sensitive topic as it does raise the issue of the fact that women were NEVER in a position to have been allowed to invent something of consequence for centuries.

Even if they had you can bet a man would have taken the credit.

As we can see that since equality has emerged in our society just how capable women are of invention and I think discovery in the scientific field is extremely valid too in this instance.

So the fact that Ian made such a misinformed and unthoughtful comment about it in public speaks volumes about his sexist attitude.
Then Jack defending it say's even more...

Hypatia is the only one I can come up with that "invented" something.

I bet you are the life of the party at your Womyn's Gender Studies Workshops.

I'm not defending Mac, I'm going after you for calling him a sexist when the only woman invention you could come up with was "Post It Notes". And that wasn't even right, you twat.

What the ???

You have been given thanks and acknowledged re my error with the post it note.
But once again Jack thank you for informing me it was liquid paper not post it notes.

Through my error and your defending of Mac and his sexist ranting it has been a most informative thread.

Once again - Thank you Villiers Terrace.

Jack's not sexist. He had me in the kitchen cooking for him recently.

And I fake most of my orgasms.

Is the kitchen the only place he's 'had' you?

Of course not. The guy's insatiable.

Yes Morty, that's exactly what happened to Rosalind Franklin, once again, her two male peers stole her work and got the credit for it. She didn't help out with the helix structure at all, she discovered it. It's all in that text I linked, but some people on here aren't able to read properly?

At Jane: Yes, would be perfect for Haiti.
Also there's this other Swedish invention, and yes, some men and women inventors, with a house that is kind of like a tent. Super easy to fold out and actually live in for a while. Would be perfect for Haiti too. Wonder if someone told them? Someone definitely should.

I'm sure they already know, with VilliersTerrace.com being recognised world-wide as the first port of call for anyone seeking water purification and camping equipment advice, not to mention that essential guide to the multitude of female-invented products we have witnessed earlier in this thread.

Some can read and can interpret. Wilkins had already taken xrays of DNA that suggested it was helical and linus pauling had also suggested it. Frankln improved the technique enough to show that it was helical and that it had the phophates on the outside. But theres much more to the structure of DNA than the helical nature and Theres the dodgy moment, I gues the one youre referring to and thats who showed watson & crick the famous 'photo 51' - previous photos being apparently less obvious. Either way that only told one aspect of the story. In addition to that they had linus pauling's model but that wouldn't work with the chemistry that was known, and that the bases always went in pairs. It was by building a physical model (this was a model that franklin apprently accepted after previosuly disagreeing with them) to show what would work that they put all of these disparate findings together. Franklin was nowhere near that. Or Wilkins for that matter. And as for that Wilkins is generally ignored too in the popular story. As I said previously, and look up Nature the journal, if you can read, obviously, but when it went to publication watson crick, wilkins and franklin all published their work/contriutions in the same edition. THats fact. Yes there was gender politics involved and yes academics are as buig a bunch of bastards as anyone else. BUt as credit goes they all published their contributions at the same time - not by coincidence either . As far as the nobel prize goes the reason franklin didn't share is because she was dead. Obviously an issue there but take it up with the swedes.

sorry, went ff on one there
