Thing is we all respect/love Mac here but we also hold the other members in high regard. Fair enough Les has talked some shit but for Mac to say 30 years later Les and Pete had nothing to do with the songwriting (especially when it's clear that the songwriting has dipped since the original four members worked together) strikes quite a few of us as wrong and underhanded. It sounds like rewriting history which is what Les accused Mac of doing a few years ago. Seems to add up.

Point well taken. Guess it's like a long, long, long marriage that you can't ditch because of financial reasons and the kids. They've all said spiteful, resentful things that don't help. Again the marriage analogy.

That's an excellent comparison, they don't really want to be together anymore but they can't afford to split up. Sad really.
Of course it's pure speculation on our part and they might actually love each other like brothers. The Gallagher brothers! Arf.

I think that's why most of us are here as well. Sure, we take the piss (as much out of each other as we do of the Bunnymen) but it's because we care! If we just wanted to pass the time slagging off some talentless shite we'd be on the U2 forum. We don't need to be a bunch of sycophants on every single Bunnymen-related topic. I've bought every single version of every release since 1984 (and the back catalogue obviously) and I post here beacuse 26 years on since I first heard them I still give a shit and they are still my favourite band.

Bros? That appaling band from the '80's? What have they got to do with it?

Although Mac could re record When Will I Be Famous as When Will I Be Famous (Again).

Amen.

And in my fucked up classical training which I keep getting teased about they actively tell you that the things you love are shit. They tell you the songs a band wrote are shit because they know the proper way to write a song. They tell you the songs you want to sing are shit and you have to sing these songs. Then they tell you that you sang them like shit. One of my points in bringing that shit up was to say that they didn't convince me of that. I'm sorry I put Diva in my screen name here. I've been using that for years. Among opera people it's diva this, prima donna that, or screen names with operas and opera characters and talking about our voices like Mac does.

In my personal life, what I know about voice, I keep to myself. I know several singers in bands who smoke. One singer's wife said she really wants him to quit because it's so much better when he doesn't smoke. I sympathised with her about how hard it is for him to quit. But here I vented. Ocean Rain was my first CD I ever bought. Mac's voice and the Bunnymen's music have haunted me for most of my life. I cried when I heard the "new voice" singing the old songs.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

I have never smoked in my life. Just how addictive can it be for people to destroy their voice, looks and vital organs? Is it harder to give up than food, sex, drugs or even rubber fetishism for example?

Yes, it is that hard. I personally know several people who quit using smack but can't quit smoking.

Can you provide sound medical evidence to back up your theory that rubber fetishism can destroy your voice and looks and which of the vital organs is it detrimental to?
