I agree, I even own The Fountain but I don't like to admit it publicly[/quote.

Bought it on amazon, mp3. The cheapest...
I used to buy all bunnymen albums in physical formats but stopped with the fountain...

Except meteorites and lovers, this album is really crap.
Production is awful (already explained my point of view in previous post), songs are weak, lyrics repetitive etc etc.
Sounds like old crap b-sides of mac in the 90's.
Jesus... So far from REAL BUNNYMEN music...
Just listen to Heaven up here after meteorites, and cry !

Fortunately the Paris gig was very good ! (even though it was far from the best gigs I saw with them) and mac's voice wonderful.
To the logical limit

I'm beating a dead horse but I am not, nor will I expect HUH or Ocean Rain etc again any more than i would expect David Gilmour & co to come up with another Dark Side. That was a long time ago and a different team in the 80s. All I ask for is a good set of songs, produced well. The Fountain was crappy and sounded unfinished. From what I've heard of Meteorites, it fits the bill fine like WAYGTDWYL Part II perhaps.

Going to wait for the CD to come through from the Pledgemusic site. Still don't see why we don't get a download from the Pledge site if it's up to buy on Amazon now, it's nuts.

Froggy you are such a downer, new album does not compare with the first four Bunnymen albums, Blah Blah Blah. Get over it, they are not even the same band Les is no longer in the band and Pete has passed away. Why do you keep whining about how the band is no longer good but you buy the new cd and go to show and then you moan. Find a new band and spare us all your crying its getting FUCKING OLD . . .

Exactly! The new songs sound great live too!!
Some of the comments have been totally unfair and please tell me how you can write your opinion of a gig, then change your mind about it a few days later??? If that's not jumping on the bandwagon, I don't know what is!!

Froggy, am with you on the songs. It's like The Fountain revisited for me and pretty much the same as how you mentioned it. Was surprised that they could pull them off ok live. I was counting the seconds until Constantinople was over. Dreadful.

I had not seen the band for a year and a half, got the one decent show a week or so ago and was pretty excited at first. I wrote my review with a bit of excitement however it was not their best gig ever. Maybe 'flawless' but flawless means no Mac breakdowns, no shouting at fans and the whole show went on as planned.
The hope and determination of the bunnygirlxx comments are cute but they're a bit over exaggerated.

VB, I thought they said the download comes with the album from Pledge but it's not over yet. Could that be why you haven't gotten it? Not buying any of it. Still not right that people who buy on amazon can get it earlier than the pledgers who signed up months ago...

whaaaa!! when did that happen. I thought he'd lost weight. well if its a different band they should change the name. Its ok to moan i say - or even just have an opinion, otherwise, like everythings just great you know. and it isn't, and you know, what's the point. was listening to nick cave's latest this morning, and lyrically, though its a bit strange in places, its brilliant - this new set of words from mac are just rubbish - not even sure of theres a shroud of turin on this album let alone an all my colours.

Mac's lyrics have been a bit shite since the grey album really and on the new album it's sometimes hard to tell what he's singing anyway so it's not a deal breaker for me.
