Someone go ask in the Official Forum. Say something like, "I want to take my family to see the Bunnymen but Mac's smoking is a bad example for my kids. I heard he quit. Did he?"

I'd like to know what the response would be.

Here is that post I was thinking of from the official forum. In regard to performing where smoking is outlawed:

He will just not smoke, does it when the band play Italy, Ireland, Scotland & USA so wont be any different...

You might think he smokes a lot but be rest assured he smoke a heck of a lot more on stage than off stage, when off stage he wont smoke that many. Honest....

It was Peter (the "webmaster", to be exact). I don't know for a fact that he is not Mexican.

I think the thing I saw was a direct quote from Mac the Mouth.

And I think I saw various bunnymen lighting up onstage at the Fonda in L.A., smoking ban be damned. I can't remember now if Ian was among them or not, however. Black Francis or Jane, do you remember?

He was at my family reunion last year. Definitely Mexican.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm pretty sure he was doing the cigarette butt soccer kick. Boy that never gets old.

Musically they sound the same but Mac's vocals have taken a turn for the better. Are the soaring? Not even close. But it is improvement indeed. Now I wonder how will the voice hold up for 2 sets in a row?
