Really like the choir boy voice on PPM now...it gets in your head and stays there!

Weakest track Fiery Flame I think at the moment....

Love the raindrop on the sun line Killer teens on tv screens, they're bringing back the guillotine and on Me and DB how to wear my overcoat so cool that I could freeze the sun but what does he say fingers pulled on my ???? what? can't make that out...

Best tracks for me are Lift Me Up, Me And David Bowie and the title track. Don't think all the songs are the classics Mac claims them to be. At this moment in time I believe that his last solo album has the edge but my opinion could change after a few more listens.

After listening to the album a number of times in the background it's grown on me. Corny and cliched as expected and it probably won't earn any new fans but not bad overall. I definitely like it more than Mac's last solo album, which is probably my least favorite Bunnymen related album.

A couple songs, like Empty As a House, remind me of Candleland, but the rest of the album reminds me of a mix between The Fountain and Mac's last solo album. A couple songs remind me of Leonard Cohen. This is probably the most Cohen-influenced album Mac has ever done.

Me and David Bowie might be the worst song Mac's ever written, though. It makes me wince hearing it.

Best songs, IMO - Fiery Flame, Empty As a House, Lift Me Up, Watch Me Land.

Lots of listens in now finding it a bit one paced as a body of work.Seem to prefer to dip my toe in on single tracks.Drums a bit wooden.Too many little keyboard noises and aahh aahhs in the background trying to accomodate for the lack of lead guitar.Track 5 sounds a bit like the Pink Panther when it goes "did you ever see a panther that is pink, think!".Overall downgraded to a 7 out of ten.

But nursery rhymes are like that...instantly accessible, get in the brain but you wouldnt really want an album of them.

I have deliberatly refrained from commenting on this latest Mac Album

But the time has come to have may say

A pleasent album that sounds like a collection of lullabys sung by a man reflecting on missed opportunity and losses due to his own stuboness.

The best time to listen to this collection of songs is in a dimly lit room , slightly subdued by alcohol. It take acouple of listens to appreciate but as the alcohol takes effect it gets better.

There is little diference in tempo and sort of sounds like one 40minute song. Reminds me of Jeff Buckly in places.

Its not a classic but is not rubbish either and I think its as with most Mac solo songs its a way of letting out his bottled up subconscience.

As a result any new Bunnymen songs should be revitalised. Of late (which has been my bigest bug bare) there seems to be a bluring of Mac and Bunnymen stuff. This reall could be the outakes from fountain.

Overall I would recommend this album, but I dont think it will be one that will be number 1 in my Mac playlist.

This songs are the type that will come across better live as in the recent solo gigs nesstling inbetween sonngs like rust and Idolness of gods

Well thats my opinion

You may now slag me off

I have yet to experience anything that will make me start drinking, but if listening to Mac's latest will help (see above post), then I'll start thinking about drinking.
