I would not be too confident on this one. When "Dead can Dance" last toured in 2005 they recorded every gig for sale, with the exception of two shows. These two gigs featured them playing with a full orchestra but due to the royalties they would have to pay every indivudual orchestra member it was not commercially viable to sell it.

It would really depend on the contract with the orchestra, so i'd wait and see before assuming it would be recorded....

I know some were expecting an email (like I was - never came), and were expecting midnight to be the time (the announcement came nearly an hour later)

And, for those of you not registered to that forum or not wishing to step cyber-foot in that bastion of free speech:

This is it the email you have been waiting for, to be able to purchase Echo & The Bunnymen tickets for the Albert Hall before the general public please use the link below, the tickets will go on sale to the general public in three days.
You will need to enter a password to proceed once you have used the link:

Have a fantastic time and don't forget to "lay your raincoat down if you are going to groove"

"lay your raincoat down if you are going to groove"???
That's like a bad English to Chinese to English translation

I know you're kidding.
And I know what time zone was meant.
It was sloppy, plain and simple.

On EVERY OTHER "OFFICIAL" artist presale I've ever taken part in:

1. The artist was clear as to the actual DAY of the presale
2. Was accurate as to the TIME of the presale

Now, I know you were "taken care of" by Peter, but frankly (again, no pun intended) - not all of us have that luxury. I was on the list. I received no email. I waited at the prescribed time.

By "everyone" still being online, do you mean the regulars, or the general public that don't spend as much time on silly band forums as you or I do?

Peter fucked up by not doing the thing the way it should have been done.
I fucked up by believing for a moment that it was going to go off correctly.

To the casual fan, it isn't about Peter being inconsistent and sloppy, and not giving a shit. It's about the BAND being inconsistent and sloppy and not giving a shit

actually......i didn't get any email until i was fast asleep. (in the wee hours!) so i didn't have any advantage over anyone else! and the person that got my ticket, didn't even get the email, so our tickets weren't bought until an hour after they went on sale!

by everyone i meant there were still like 40 forum members online at 1 am waiting, just in case. and i saw people that i haven't seen online in ages and ages waiting.

that's cool that you saw so many familiar old names.

Still, the fact remains that it was handled sloppily, whether or not there were 40 people waiting.

How many others checked in at the prescribed time, saw it wasn't live and said "fuck it"?

Last time I checked, Royal Albert Hall seats a LOT more than 40.

i'm still grateful that we had first crack at the seats....because they still aren't being announced to the general public until Friday morning..........if we had to fight against all those people this morning, we may have gotten much shittier seats!!! so i'm still very glad we were given first crack. (even if the time got messed up)

I gotcha.

And I'm glad to have a forum where we can discuss these things - heatedly or not - and not fear banning or censorship

Were you on the old forum at all FTB?

I've been on all the incarnations of the "official" board from FBC onward. I have been more of a lurker than anything else for the last few years. I'm quite opinionated, and would prefer to not post at all than to post my thoughts and have them deemed "unsafe for the community" by someone unfit to judge me.
