Anyone notice the Faith and Healing guitar riff at the end of New Horizons? That's kind of weird. Overall, the album sounds like a mix of new Mac and a little bit of Candleland to me, with sort of a new coat of paint with the production. Cool to see some people liking it. Don't think it should be called a Bunnymen album but it is what it is.

I really like it actually. Nice one Mac (for a change).

That all came crashing down on Sunday unfortunately!

I felt a bit let down because I really got my hopes up after listening to Market Town and Lovers which I thought were the best things they'd done since 1984. I had it in my head that it really was going to be the true follow-up to ocean rain. I'm going to give it another listen, I was a bit distracted yesterday and still pissed off with Sunday's result. Maybe it'll sound better on a second listen.

You can listen to a door close long enough and it will sound like music.

Not too long ago someone posted a link to illegally download Meteorites. One of the few rules i have is not to do things like that so it was removed. After some thought, I went back and looked for the YouTube full album stream link in this thread to remove it and I see that it was removed by the YouTube uploader so the link is dead anyway.
Bands make money from tours and music sales, let's not do this sort of thing here.

On this new forum software there is a new feature to report a post. It is next to the "edit" button and looks like an exclamation point in a red circle. We all bitch and moan about stuff here but I think we all wish the best for the Bunnymen. I can't condone illegal streams and downloads on the Forum. I also can't police every thread so if anyone sees that sort of thing PM me or use the "!" button which will send me a message.

Thanks, and carry on...the new album isn't everyone's thing but it's nice to finally see praise for a Bunnymen release, especially older fans from the beginning.

Personally, I just gave a listen to the full album stream on Youtube.

And I don't see the point in downloading it even illegally, because it's so crap...

Maybe I'll buy it one day if I feel very happy (like if Liverpool FC wins the league)
Apart from that, it's so disappointing to hear what they (actually, Mac only) have become.
Like all of us, I would have loved to hear a great album and I was hoping for it, thanks to the great communications in March/April.

Well, vive Poltergeist, vive Will Sergeant !

Surely you have to give it time? Some of my favourite albums over the years have been ones that I didn't initially like, I usually find albums that I immediately like are discarded fairly quickly as they soon become over familiar due to their instant appeal.

Anyway, whatever you think of Meteorites you have to agree it's a massive improvement on The Fountain!

Grapes Upon The Vine is so far my favourite. But I'm only 22 minutes into the album.

I've been opening and closing the door for an hour now but it's still not making any decent tunes.

I haven't listened to it yet. I am too scared to due to the mixed reviews on here, even if it has the Dr Cheese special seal of approval. Kind of like someone offering you some Marmite to spread on your toast, but you are really hungry.
