I just heard the next U2 single on the radio and it is suprisingly very good and different
A throw back to their earlier days and Dog and Bones voice sounds really good

It sounds a bit like Janes Addiction

The song I heard was the title track of the album -- line on the horizon

Worst song on Siberia by a country mile,only Siberia track to still be played live.Says it all about Mac's choice of setlist.

That album is a collection of half songs. Either the verses are great and the chorus sucks or vice versa. Only song I listen to regularly is All Because of You Days and even it can be a bit tedious. Would like to hear it live though.

Of a Life is kinda cool too.

To be fair Bono has never denied he is a huge Joy Division fan, so much so that Martin Hamnett was originally lined up to produce "Boy" but he pulled out after Ian Curtis died........ Which resulted in Steve Lilywhite coming in at the last minute to replace him, always wondered if U2 would have made it if Hamnet had produced "Boy".....

Also as for The Pixies, I never heard them complain when U2 invited them to support them on the Zooropa tour..........

I never claimed to be a spokesperson for the Pixies, I was just their fluffer.

I must say that having now heard the new U2 album I much prefer it to the Bunnymen's last effort. Never thought I'd find myself saying that!

Siberia is the only good album that the Bunnymen have released since getting back together. I hate to say it but WAYGTDWYL would probably be second even though it's hardly even a Bunnymen album. It's actually a pretty good album, too, for what it is. Evergreen #3, and Flowers way behind at #4.

I still don't get the love that Evergreen gets, it's a bunch of generic Brit-rock, alt-rock that was popular at the time the album came out.

I just heard "Get on your boots", is that the new single from U2? That's got to be one of the worst U2 songs I've ever heard. Lame, generic crap. I hope Eno didn't have to produce that, but I'm guessing he did.
