To me it sounds like he had better range on Siberia. "All Because of You Days" he had good lows and starting around the four minute mark stretched out a bit.

I like the rough and tumble vocals and all but he sounds like he's straining at times on the new single.

Maybe I've just become so embittered nothing will please me anymore.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Taken from a different thread but quite apt I reckon.

Most likely. And from the photo he posted, his mother has a nice living room. Doesn't she?

Actually we were both bitching about that on Friday. Someone tell Mac it's okay to be cryptic every now and then. Any more literal and he'll be doing "Trapped In the Closet"

I think he mentions in that recent newspaper article where the album title is revealed that he is going to be more cryptic on the new album. Something about his writing being more vague like his earlier stuff. Hard too tell with the new song, though, I'd say it's definitely closer to his recent stuff like Siberia.

Calamine lotion is an obvious reference to VU, IMO.

Yes, it's true - Black Francis' mom has a nice living room. But I've spent more time in her root cellar... and on her back porch.

That was precisely my impression as well.
