Luckily it's not that major problem for me taking time off work, also the fact i've no kids makes it all the easier. Despite that it is a pain in the ass that the concert is midweek, so much better if it was a weekend.......

As for accomadation I may be able to access very reasonable rooms within a few hundred yards of the RAH. I will let people know early next week, as I hope to be able to arrange a block discount lol......

a weekend probably would've been better for most people. maybe they charge a lot more money to rent the albert hall on the weekend!

Maybe they had to work around the orchestra's schedule.

holiday inn kensington booked...

so macs voice isn't what it was, you tell me who still sounds the same after 28 years?

ocean rain still sends me to another place live... it's never gonna sound the same as 1984 is it... still magnificent though... love it

there is no way on earth i'm gonna miss this, and i can't understand some of the indecision on here... if you don't wanna go then don't! alternatively just get there and witness whatever happens if you can... who knows when it'll all end!

I'd settle for his 1999 voice.

I've heard Mac honk his way thru the song Ocean Rain in the last few years and I'd hate to see it happen at such a prestigious reunion of sorts. I totally understand the apprehension from people who may have to shell out a lot of money to see this with tickets, hotel, babysitters, transportation. I've heard his voice has improved recently we'll get a preview of things to come at the upcoming Liverpool show I suppose.

On the other hand...man, ocean rain with an orchestra, honking or not that will be pretty sweet.

i hear ya on that one.....been there many times, but i am usually never disappointed! i think there have only ever been two shows abroad that sorta stunk, and it wasn't even the band, it was the CROWD that ruined it. lame boring crowd!! one was at Cambridge a few years back, and the other was last summer at Hove (Brighton). but i'm never disappointed, because meeting up with everyone is half the fun!

and you're right, the orchestra , and the royal albert hall = perfect atmosphere!

It doesn't matter what day of the week it is - I'm still going to try my best to go to this once in a lifetime event! I'm definitely going to get tickets for this show and figure the rest out later! I'm sooo excited!!! Red - I totally agree w/ you - I've never been disappointed by their shows - only the crowd at some of the shows I've been too.

This is definitely a once in a lifetime event. I hope that Les will come and play that night! I think Mac will do great.

I think I'll do the same. I know I'd end up regretting it if I'm not there!
