Looks like it's, depending on your scoring system, going to be either a 3/5 or 6/7 out of 10 type of album.

Either it's pleasent or good, or dull and uninspiring.

But ma invites the comparison by making it himself. The snippets sou d up the siberia/fountain street to me.

I do think Lovers on the Run is gonna permanently go on the iPod.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

These days I find myself less inclined to new music from them. What I do want is my Bunnymen live fix.

Meterorites - Hey now, Hey now, Hey now...(sounds familiar) WTF is that song? Explosions and Lovers On The Run also sounds like a couple of recycled lyrics / songs. I'd have to say MAC is stuck simply recycling old bits and fooling himself into believing these are good tunes. Why push yourself - when the people will buy, no questions asked? Having no label is killing it - no one to edit, throw it back in his face, tell him no, edit it down into some quality shit, nothing. We're stuck on this road for a while.

From the song titles - you'd think we has offing this band proper. Burn It Down, MAC. Proper style - free the beast. Don't think I'll be buying this one...

Grapes upon the Vine might be alright. Rest are dire, in my opinion.

Yes, brundiman. There are snippets streaming on 429's website that has now led to further posts since page 15 of this very thread.

Hello from PledgeMusic,

Echo & The Bunnymen posted a new update for Meteorites:
Market Town

This was one of the first songs I started writing immediately after finishing my solo album "Pro Patria Mori’, on which I’d played some of the bass guitar lines.
Because I’m not a bass player, I was able to not think like one, which I tried to turn into an advantage. I enjoyed making bass lines weave around and inside a song, using it as a way of propelling it in a cyclical circular way.

It felt really new (even though I’d come up with, and played bass lines on songs before) and exciting to me in a more creative way than it ever had. And really importantly, I felt the way I had to play the bass, – due to my limitations, – gave me a unique angle and a positive naivety.

I made a decision to write the skeletal structures for the next set of songs on an unplugged (I don’t own an amplifier) cheapo bass guitar. In the first hour or so I’d written the skulls, ribcages, ulnas, metatarsi, vertebrae, femurs, etc. to ‘Market Town’, ‘Holy Moses’ and ‘Is This A Breakdown?’.

I knew I had discovered the new sound for the Bunnymen.
The sound which I would fall asleep to, dream to, and wake up to.
The sound I’d been waiting for for so long.
The sound of Meteoric storms.

X
It wouldn't work if Mac was a slaphead would it.

Has Mac always been such a massive gobshite or I am just noticing it more?

Quick someone got Mac an amplifier, or we'll have to hear about this type of thing more often!

I take it you have to pledge to listen to this track. Reading the above, I take it sounds like Dem Bones? And is Mac also playing the guitar parts that Will used to do in the band, like he is claiming to do a la Les in a cyclical circular way? Must be amazing.
