It was in reply to your comment - Ian McCulloch is not needed anymore.

I replied

He is. Much as I like Will's track, Mac is still needed for the Bunnymen.

It is not because your American but because I didn't use punctuation..

Whitesnake do a similar thing for Coverdale, cue interminable drum & guitar solo ...

Thought that was always part of their set anyway.

But no wonder Lips, Villiers and NLF, and sometimes Horses and Rescue are so long, he's probably trying to tell them something.

I wish he'd get rid of the "ad libs"

Although nothing beats the epic majesty of Do It Clean.

Yeah but these days Coverdale uses it as an excuse to disappear for ten minutes to get his breath back, mind you he's got ten years on Mac but he puts him to shame performance wise.
