The Radio City Show meetup...planning ahead

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

If you are hanging out for one day - well - it takes half a day to get to and back from the Statue of Liberty - or an hour to the top of the Empire State building - it is a big city.

yes, easily! it's only 4 3/4 inches by 6 3/4 inches. so it's smaller than a 5x7.....and it's only 1/2 an inch thick.

well, unless your purse is one of those fancy skinny little evening bags....but a regular bag for being in the city for the day is easily gonna hold it.

i got mine about 5 years ago, so i have the older version, but i loaned it out once and had to order a new one coz i was going to the city again, (and they're still that same size.) and i wrote all over mine with hot pink pen! i hate not being able to find somewhere the next time i go back, especially if i really liked the place and know i'll be going back in the future. and also, when i do research before i go, i mark it off right away, in case i lose the paper with the address on it. (which is easy to do) in fact, i sometimes give a copy of that mapbook for a gift, and i also mark off all the places on theirs too! i was REALLY happy to get my old one back just in time for my trip, coz i would never have been able to remember everything that was written on it from the past! phew!

yeah! i have one for NYC, DC, London and Dublin. they're so useful! i need to get a Philly one next! i never got one for there yet, but i'm finding myself going there more and more often in recent years than i ever have in the past. i couldn't find a Philly one when i last looked...they were either out of stock, or there isn't one. i'll have to check again before i go back next time. (hopefully that will be for the Fountain tour!)

i don't think they make a philly one. but then i never really looked for one either. let me know what you wanna look for, and i'll tell you where it is. i've lived in and around philadelphia my whole life. so i know where *most* things in the city are, even if i haven't been to that particular place

plus in comparison to NYC, philadelphia is a much more manageable city, and easier to find things. even including the areas outside of "center city".

They better swing west too

I've never heard of this series of guidebooks, but they sound great, and looks like there's a whole bunch of cities covered: http://www.randomhouse.com/knopf/travel/mapguides.html

but not L.A. or Philly. What's up with that?????

Only one place in both Philly and L.A. are required tourist attractions. King Taco in L.A. and that famous Philly cheese steak place. No book necessary.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

So skip the Liberty Bell then?

Being from Philly, cheesesteaks are one of my favorite foods of all-time!
They just aren't the same anywhere else.

Yes in favor of the Rocky statue. Much more representative of freedom and the sacrifices made by early Americans.

That image series begs the question: spit or swallow?

Hard to tell but if I go with image seven it looks like she's gonna spit.
