Avalanche is fantastic. Will's guitar work is amazing and Mac sounds like he's possessed. I'm not usually one for do, do, do, do bits but it works. My only complaint is the sound is a bit muddy and could use a bit of touching up.

I agree about Avalanche, awesome song, although it does sound like they could've worked on it a little more and made it even better. I'm surprised more fans don't like that one, definitely one of my faves from the Bunnymen since getting back together. Top 5 probably.

OK, I'm going to go ahead and ask: What the f%$k is Avalanche?

UPDATE:I think I have been through this before. I think last time, blink sent me the track. (Also the sgt fuzz baseball bill. Thanks this time to bf.)

Anyway, it is good, and I would be ecstatic for them to produce stuff like this now. I agree it is a little rough.

For some reason it reminds me of this song:

almost as bad as the Oasis backing vocals!

other than that the song wasn't too bad. had some cool Will parts on it.

Are you kidding?!?!?!? Those Do's - That is pure pop bliss!!! Best thing I have heard since Jimmy Brown / Made of Stone! And the melody is fantastic!
If Mac were to sing in this range his voice wouldn't crack . . . . .

Not to mention the drumming was worthy of inheriting Pete's spot! The ending is really catchy with the little drum break and zingy synth sound (oh some Glide in there!)
And the wild guitar sounds! Man, I wish they would go in that direction with the new album!

Avalanche is a GREAT song!!!!!!!

I notice, with some interest, that you dont include the words in that list of what's good about this song. Isn't that the one with the 'driven like the snow' line. pure class. year/grade 7 class that is.

Yeah, the title is avalanch, then driven like the snow. Fat Cherry is wrong and continues to dig a hole.

you play me like a violin hipster. a hole? in what way? nay. i think this song is rubbish, there are times when they shouldn't let will anywhere near the mixing desk. I'm guessing there obviously, but to me it sounds like he popped in whilst mac was asleep (about 11 am) and twiddled a few knobs.

I was more interested in what this person said on the other forum.

Hello everybody! I always thought Mac did all the vocals on that record even the higher doo doo doos and on the baby blue song too.

I had no reason to believe Mac didn't sing everything on Avalanche until now but it still sounds like him to me.

I've listened to the Ep again and I'm down for "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" even though I don't like Dylan.

That'd be some shit if they were dropped by Warners already. Especially after all the hullabaloo regarding their signing. Can the Bunnymen ever catch a break?
