Maybe you've gone deaf with all that Valentine's Day masturbating you've been doing.

No I haven't gone deaf but my vision is a bit blurry and goddamn these are the hairest palms I've ever seen.

Yeah I like the lyrics. I like the "home and dry and unstuck" line. And the chorus too.

Then theres the xylophone and the drum machine. It's all good.

Didn't he use that line on the mostly-flaccid Siberia album as well?

If nothing else, Ian McCulloch is the recycle-king of rock n roll

And... there's nothing wrong with having spent Valentine's Day masturbating.

Yes, yes indeed. He is the Great Recycler. The line has been used three times -- (1) Fuel, (2) the title of the first greatest hits album and (3) Of A Life.

Yet I look upon its usage in Of A Life as a playful nod to the past.

I kinda like "Of a Life" because of it's tempo changes. The Pixies get a lot of credit for that but the Bunnymen were doing it about 5-7 years earlier. maybe not as extreme though.

Yes, I regard it as a wink to the fans. There are a few on Siberia, actually.

It's an inconvenient truth.

Can I just say...I really like Fuel.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

A: I like Fuel.

B: I've always wondered if they were winks to fans, or unintentionally lazy accidental-recyclings. I hope the prior, but have always secretly harboured a fear of the later.

I'm gonna listen to fuel one more time before deciding once and for all you're all wrong. That's how fair and benevolent I can be.

Fuel being on the remastered Porcupine with the stellar title track and the awesome Ripeness sounds pretty weak.

And speaking of Ripeness, the alternate track is better than the amazing album track.

I'd bitch about our gas prices but I hear you guys have it worse on the other side of the Atlantic.
