I think it was '78, certainly around that time but yes, it was awesome. My abiding memory of it is Angus in the crowd still playing guitar with a red smoke flare in his school satchel. Bon's fur bomber jacket also sticks in the memory for some reason.

Also saw AC/DC in 1980 at Donnington Rock Festival while my other half passed out on the ground clutching his bottle of whiskey until someone stood on his head.....those were the days lol
Even god has to soundcheck sometimes

Me too, when they came on I thought Brian Johnson was a dead ringer for Harold Steptoe!

saw em supporting the Who at wemberley stadium in 1979. I was on the pitch but about as far back as possible so just five little dots but sounded great until the PA cut out - just as they started whole lotta rosie and came back on just as they finished. Stranglers on also during their strippers phase for bring on the nubles (memory's a bit vague here). Still no good from the back of the stadium.

I haven't but I think Back and Black is one the greatest hard rock albums of all the time. It came out when I was just starting to see a lot of bands like that, then For Those About To Rock came out but for some reason I never did see them live. I didn't really follow them much after that.

I never really took to Brian Johnson and I haven't seen them live for many years, I still have an AC/DC playlist on my iPod though.

Maybe the title of this thread should be changed to The AC/DC Thread.

I did see Let There Be Rock in a theatre. They brought in a full PA so it was friggin loud, nearly the same as being at a show but with a better view.

No but I saw a lot of concert films in movie theaters back then. It was a great way to see bands that I never could have seen otherwise like The Clash, early Genesis, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, The Who, Led Zeppelin.

Fair enough, I remember going to the cinema to see The Song Remains The Same when it first came out.

I got into an argument with my Mom on the phone about that one when I was 15. I was huge Zeppelin freak then but never saw anything by them live.
I was at a friends house and we saw that it was playing at the theater downtown. I called my Mom and her being familiar with the "sketchy" area she was adamant that I couldn't go. We got into a huge fight about it. I was furious and hung up. I called back and my Dad answered. Knowing they had no way to check, I lied and said we saw it was playing elsewhere else in the nice safe suburbs, he said OK and we went downtown anyway. That was the first time I saw a homeless person.

A teenager lying to his parents? I'm shocked and outraged!
