[quote="girlwithnoname"]I love EVERY SONG on Heaven Up Here and Porcupine. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Me too - EVERY SINGLE ONE!! Crocodiles came out when I was 17 and the Bunnymen have provided the soundtrack to all of my adult life so far. Plus Mac was gorgeous then and still gorgeous now

Life changing, I have met the best people ever because of them, had the best times at gigs/aftershows and pre-gig meets. I liked The Killing Moon when it came out but didn't get into them then. I then heard NLF on the radio and loved it and then heard Evergreen on the radio and loved it. So I went to see them live when they played locally in 1998 and
they completely blew me away!!! Mac's voice/performance and Will's guitar, Les on bass
were great. So I got their back catalogue and listened to the first four albums one after the other and they moved me to tears due to their brilliance and they seemed to connect with me deeply. It was my kind of music! I have been obsessed ever since. They are so great they even have a forum for people that don't like them anymore ;-) and they are
not perfect ( true perfection has to be imperfect).

Mac and Will solo stuff and Electrafixion and Will's art are all extra bonuses too ..

oh and HUH is the best album by any band ever!

I am 41 years old and to this day when I listen to Crocodiles, Heaven Up Here, Porcupine, Ocean Rain and EATB I get chill bumps and say out loud "Damn that song is unfreakingbelievable" after almost every track.

To see them perform live in Liverpool, on their home turf, lifted me to new heights of ecstasy! I wanna do it again! Don’t mind the lovers’ quarrel, it only means we care.

Echo and The Bunnymen were Liverpool's Fab Four of the 1980's. There's something powerfully romantic about Ian's voice, on the page and at the mic. Very few poets could write lines like "Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him"

Ian's a lover, fighter, poet and singer in one of the most memorable bands of this or any era. I am in the middle of a Bunnymen renaissance. Mad love to Mac and Bunnymen!

Very few bands I like make it into the "own everything they've put out" category; the Bunnymen are at the top of my list.

WAYGTDWYL doesn't have a skippy song on it, and the same can be said for HUH. "Fish Hook Girl" is pure bliss.

The Fountain is the eleventh studio album by Echo & the Bunnymen.

I love Idolness of Gods. Probably a little soft for most, but I think Ian sounds very passoinate on that song.

funny you say that fat cherry, started playing waygtdwyl a lot recently (having greatly ignored it) and think its a very good album. I do think OR is a bit over stated.

Modest slights in the contextual tone of an overall positive statement are OK but I would prefer no outright negativity or attempts to subvert the thread with sarcasm.

I will allow JackT's neutral statement to remain only because watercolors made it into a positive with her reply. While not a fan favorite, there are good songs on The Fountain.

Remember, the rules are just for this thread. It's business as usual elsewhere.
