I'm just saying that U2 are a global force, they make a shit load of money from touring, and everyone knows who they are. When I was planning my trip to see the Bunnymen last May and was telling friends about it, very few people even knew who they were, and I'm talking about people in my age bracket. I consistently got a "Never heard of 'em."

You are 30-something aren't you Malbert? So, it figures. I used to get the same reaction in the days I went to see them.

I'd like to say I'm in my 30's, but I'm 42.

I think "The Fly" is their best song.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I think The Fly was their last really good song.

I tell people I'm going to see the Bunnymen and when they ask me again about it later they confuse them with Hootie & the Blowfish. I say "Yeah, yeah, that's them."

I was watching a tv show last night that gave tribute to Andrew Breitbart, and they mentioned he would randomly tweet links to Bunnymen videos (and other 80's bands). I thought it was cool that the band was mentioned.

What is going to be very sad is if Mac passes anytime soon. He is responsible for himself. We can't blame the sycophants. But it would be nice to see him turn it around and get it together.

what normally happens - artist (shall i call him that) spends years in the wilderness, comes back with a cracking back to form album (or one produced by rick rubin) and then chokes on his own vomit, or dies suddenly after a long illness. Well known fact. We've either got to put up with mac putting out dire album after dire album or settle for a real goody and then a funeral.

Hi everybody!

This is my first visit here. I mainly signed up to try and find out what's up with Mac and why he cancelled his tour. Was all set to see him in Chicago and am bummed and worried. Is he ill and/or the drinking getting really out of hand? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
