I cancelled my pledge a couple weeks ago. Just couldn't be bothered to care.

Me too. I transferred all that $$ to Will's project instead.

Had a feeling Mac's wouldn't materialize as expected. The fans have been fleeced but you still have the Holy Trinity of songs to look forward to. Wait for it...wait for it....... (oh you're already waiting).

This is on the Wikipedia page for "Ian McCulloch."

December 2011 - McCulloch announces new album to be released in March 2012 entitled "Pro Patria Mori" Pre-orders are being done via Pledgemusic @ http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/ianmcculloch

I thought Wikipedia was ad-free?

That whole project looks so, so ghetto - all the way to selling the sunglasses. Can't you see who's made changes to the wiki sites? Would be interesting to check it out.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist.....

This page was last modified on 4 March 2012 at 21:11.

One of the corrections was from "(anon)." I would be anonymous too if I was running that operation.

Can it be classed as an ad if there's no product?

Hello from PledgeMusic,

Ian McCulloch posted a new update for New Solo Album:

Mixing latest

Hi everyone

We’re really sorry to announce that we are still mixing the album – but it is almost finished, and we are hoping to have it to you ASAP. It’s difficult to give an exact date but we hope it will be available for you to download on the 26th March. if this isn’t the case we will let you know immediately.

We do however have a couple of tracks pretty much ready and about to be mastered. As soon as these are back we’ll be putting them up for you to listen to here first.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm not surprised the album hasn't been finished/mixed.

Many local bands in my area have done the pledge route. The pledge money is used to cover recording costs. Many studios require payment in advance, so the actual product may not be delivered until quite some time after pledges are paid.

On the music food chain, it's one step below an indie label.
