With the bit torrent thingie, do you really need to upload a lot of stuff to maintain the privilege of downloading other stuff? What if one didn't have anything to upload at all? I don't like anything that turns into a popularity contest.

Nothing will prevent you from downloading if you don't upload something or don't keep seeding. But it's nice to keep seeding things like this.
