Reissues Out Of Print?

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Still, it is what it is and songs like Bedbugs, Life, Lips and Lost and Found sound good.

Actually the version of Bedbugs & Ballyhoo on the grey album is a crime against humanity when compared to the original. I remember the old days when SexMac (as opposed to Grizzled BaldyMac) did a neat little dance to a brilliant live version of that song at the Pyramids Centre in Portsmouth. Those were the days. Now his joints aren't up to it.
Mind you, Blue Blue Ocean and Bombers Bay was great to listen to during a really hot summer, but there was still something lacking, a bit contrived. The only really cool song was New Direction. All my Life was great, but gave him ideas about becoming a solo crooner.

How far back to CDs go? Anyone know who issued the first CD?

I am certain that the first CD issued by the Bunnymen was Ocean Rain in 1984.

ABBA's The Visitor was the first commercially released CD in 1982

I picked up a dingy copy a couple years back that I'd like to think is from 87/88.

My oldest CD is from 1983. Script of the Bridge.

It's fitting that ABBA would be first ever CD.

I remember when CDs used to come with the warning to take care of them just like you would vinyl.

I've left some of my CDs in the heat of my car for years now. Thank God nothing seems to bother them.

yes but I also remember hearing about them for the first time and they made it sound like they were indestructible. So much for that. A scratched CD or one with a pit skips too and usually worse.

I think it depends if they are in direct sunlight. Heat will warp a record but CD's seem ok unless they are in direct sunlight.

kiss me kiss me kiss me & honey's dead were the first I bought - always been a bit of a luddite. Though some freebie mozart best of was the very very first I aquired. Leaving the cds to roll around in the car seems to bugger them up quite well - all those little biddy scratches. Need a new copy of Curvature.... and Low thanks to that.

What I meant by that was that ABBA was super popular, so there was no question as to whether or not it would sell in multiple formats.

Additionally, ABBA are credited with being on the cutting edge of making promo videos because they could not possibly keep up with all of the requests they had to appear around the world, thus the promo video was born to make people feel better about not getting to see their favorite band in concert.

Not good enough. Explain again.

Hey, take it easy. I'm sure she's co-operating the best she can.

Do you want something to drink, DivaDiana?

no, don't explain again.

(and don't do the "good cop, bad cop" type thing with her either. you are both good cops as far as she's concerned, because you are semi-engaging her in conversation. so much knowledge about ABBA, so little interest in ABBA. depression setting in...)

You don't necessarily know we were going to do that.
