Imagine seeing someone do that in real life. Being at work and you look over and someone who just read a post they found funny rolling on the floor and laughing their ass off?

Withahip replacement for sure.

Yes, well, to be honest, it's how I felt on the inside.

Just got back from the UK a few hours ago, having seen all three shows. Yes it was extravagant, but a once in a lifetime experience, worth every penny spent. It's hard to imagine a better time. I hope to post photos elsewhere once I get organized. I met several of the VT members, including KOK who put me in touch with Brian who got my 1984 Ocean Rain tour book signed, the one that was also signed by Will, Les and Pete. Bless their hearts for getting the job done. Got a couple of set lists off the stage and more autographs at the after show parties. Liverpool is a party town, streets packed late into night, lots of leg and high heels.

The O2 theater was packed Friday and Saturday nights with lots of pushing and shoving by people trying to get to the handrail in front of the stage. And they sang along the entire show. Their love for the Bunnymen was unmistakable.

Here's a sample of the show that night. Somewhere in the middle of Bedbugs and Bally Hoo I fiddled with the mic input level and unknowingly paused it, ending the recording. Although learning about this glitch afterwards put a mild damper on the evening, it was still an extraordinary experience. In all the bootlegs recordings I've listened to so far, I have not heard this level of audience participation. Enjoy.

Yipee Sick4Tunes--so glad you got that signed. I just wish you had been able to enjoy the moment in person and hear the reaction. It's still a great story either way. Looking forward to the deets. :)

S4T you are a legend.

This is all so cool to us, but I met someone from London out here in LA.

London: Yes, I'm from London. Have you ever beeen?
Diva: No, I've never beeen?

(He laughs--thank God....)
Diva: I really want to go, though.
London: To London?
Diva: Um, no, Liverpool.
London: Well, it was declared the cultural capital of Europe.
Diva: really?
London: About 5 years ago.

(I'm thinking superlambananas, that big spider and Go Penguins...yes, I know there are like art museums and stuff.)
Diva: Cool. Have you ever been?
London: No, actually I haven't. So what's your interest in Liverpool. Are you a Beatles fan?
Diva: Em, yes, a little, but really it's more about another band. Echo and the Bunnymen. And The Wild Swans. Hope I can catch some live shows when I go.

(Blank look.)
Diva: 80s bands. And there was a big thing with 3 shows this weekend. I've got these fan forum friends and lots of them are in Liverpool or live there...

I started to feel like I was saying, "I have these imaginary friends--one is a porcupine, one is a crocodile, and a penguin and a fish all live on the Arctic Sea with the Yo Yo Man..."

2008 to be exact.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Having a cold gives me lots of time to waste at the computer. I finished all the editing and am marginally pleased with the results (I'm picky).

In the post above I gave you all a taste of the Liverpool shows by providing a link to the first eight songs played Saturday night (December 19, 2009). That set list provided includes:

Rescue
Show of Strength
Villiers Terrace
Stormy Weather
Think I Need It Too
Seven Seas
Dancing Horses
Bedbugs and Bally Hoo (partial)

I am now providing the middle of the set list from the Thursday night show (December 17, 2009):

Rust
Zimbo
All That Jazz
Bedbugs and Bally Hoo
Silver

I will eventually post the last third of their show on my blogspot once I get around to updataing it, from the Friday night performance (December 18, 2009), including the songs:

The Back of Love
The Killing Moon
The Cutter
Nothing Lasts Forever
Do It Clean
Lips Like Sugar

Put it all together and you will have a Liverpool show from beginning to end.

Check out the photos from the Thursday night show, all other days will eventually be posted too.

Even with a congested nasel cavity and chest, I'm wondering whether I should head outside to crank up the truck stereo for a cigar and a little bit of tequila. Doesn't alcohol have some medicinal value??

Tequila is a well known cure all here in La Puente
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

We needed a bootlegger to go to Wild Swans. Shame.
But, wow, what a fun romp on the blog. Even wrote some haiku for us to enjoy. Great pix!!

Cool. Yes, tequila has medicinal properties. Even I know that! ;) But it was def smart of you to get some before you went to Liverpool since it's a Mexican thing and they wouldn't understand. (OK, Some would.)

I was told by a photographer at the LA show that it is relatively easy getting a press pass to gain wider access at live shows. But I'm sure there is an additional fee involved. He never replied to my request to see the photos from that gig. I'd love to see the Wild Swans! Especially if it means hear Les.

Wow! You went to the LA show?? You've been following the Bunnies all over it seems. There isn't a cure, is there? I have now purchased ALL of the reissues. I'm getting there.
