Unlike the Fountain, it's got plenty of great shits though (drum roll... cymbal crash... canned laughter).

I think some of us (including me) will always be stuck on the earlier stuff. If we were listening to the Bunnymen with completely fresh ears, we might come up with a different answer. It's just rough to do that when Ian sounded a gagillion times better 25 years ago, the band was still together, and they were composing more adventurous stuff. It's hard to let go.

We have issues.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

I'm not so much stuck on the earlier stuff, although it is clearly superior, as it's unlikely you'd get that again. I prefer the rockier stuff and the jingly-jangly guitar of the post-97 albums to some of the material on the new album ... Not everyone is fan of that either. I do like, however, Forgotten Fields, Everlasting Neverendless and Shroud of Turin has grown on me. Hence why I bought them.

Thinking about it. I'd particularly welcome if Life of A 1,000 Crimes includes the original "Rust-like" version of "The Fountrain", which was dropped from the album and later re-recorded. I'm still intrigued about what Mac meant by that.

I bet that version is a lot better than the album version. When did Ian mention that about the song? I must've missed it. I agree about the good songs on the album - Forgotten Fields, Everlasting and Shroud of Turin. I'd also add Drivetime. The rest of the album has bits and pieces that sound cool in places but that's about it, IMO. I will admit that for some reason I keep listening to Do You Know Who I Am on my iPod. If you can manage to zone out the lyrics it's a pretty catchy song. I like the drums and guitar on it.

I quite like a lot of the intros to the songs then Mac starts singing and I think "oh dear" as everything rapidly turns to shit or just wanders aimlessly along going nowhere until the song ends to massive indifference.
Maybe their next album should be instrumental.

that 'little guitar thing' my friend, is the only light at the end of this very dark tunnel, a faint glimmer in the bunny warren of doom. dont believe i just wrote that. see, my metaphors have all gone crap too and its all mccullochs fault.

I think it was one of the recent radio interviews, he said it was "Rust-like" and was vocally weaker so it was re-recorded. Do You Know Who I Am? Yeah, I quite like the sound of that one as well for exactly the same reasons. I think I said before it is catchy, if repetitive.

I'd have preferred Everlasting Neverendless. No news of a 'b-side' (if you can have such a thing on a download). My son (10) bought November for his i-pod last night, first time I'd heard it in full, decent song. Hey, BF, sounds like you've got the ear of the Bunnymen camp, how about putting a word in for Everlasting Neverendless as the next single?

Mr Brian tried it once with a Craftmatic bed and a bottle of Stoll.

That is a post that belongs on BOF.

Whatever pile of steaming horse droppings the Bunnymen release Dave will be jumping up and down with excitement so its not worth entering into a debate. I used to pity him but now I just despise his weakness.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Surely this forum is now resembling what we disliked about the official one before ?Only difference is where on the official one you were shouted down for having negative comment, this one is just the polar opposite in shouting down positive comment in a 'ganging up in the playground' manner?

Just a thought for some people who think they are far cleverer than they really are.
