Did they have other non-UK shows besides the US tour and Dubai scheduled?

They're scheduled for a radio sponsored multi band thing in Manchester on December 8 (I believe), which is 32 days away.

My theory of rehab is still valid.

I wondered if this would come up. Everyone assumed it instantly w/ DM. Guess DM has a "track" record of that sort of thing, though.

I think they just screwed up and can't afford to go- something I can identify with completely.

Mac did sound major head cold/flu awful on that BBC 6 radio show Sunday, so maybe he really is just sick.

I don't know how contracts work, but if this dubai show was sort of a one-off, wouldn't round-trip airfare, hotels, per diem, etc. be part of the deal?

It didn't stop the US 1999 tour where he was sick for the whole tour as I recall.

Precaution against swine flu perhaps? I wouldn't travel abroad to some places like there with a heavy cold at the mo. All airline passengers into and out of Dubai are monitored. Flu- or cold-like symptons and you are taken aside, flogged or whatever they do over there.

Every time Mr. Brian gets on a plane he announces he has contrband in an orifice and lets security cavity search him for about 30-45 minutes then tells them he was just kidding.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I got very sick during a stop off in Dubai a few years back (long before swine flu worries). The airport staff were really helpful. Got whisked down to the doctor for a jag and some pills, then driven to the plane. Emirates staff on board were also great.

Aren't the Johnny Marr guitared (sic?) Cribs doing the same show? Maybe a McCulloch/Sergeant/Marr performance of a couple of Electrafixion songs would be too much to hope for. Why not, its nearly Christmas.
