If it wasn't for the Bunnymen still existing and touring, it would appear to the casual observer from down south to be exactly that, a jaded 80s hasbeen desperately trying to earn a few bob for a cup of tea and warm bed for the night. On that basis, seeing Mac doing a bit of busking outside the main escalator at the Oxford Street underground with a hat on the floor collecting spare pennies from busy commuters so he could nip to Oddbins for a few bevvies of Carlsberg Special Brew wouldn't seem out of the ordinary. Someone please tell me that musicians performing in restaurants is the latest fad in Liverpool at the moment. Yours, worried.

You should see the reverential silence I give the cover band here at the local bar. A bunch of fifty somethings doing Gary Numan, KC and the Sunshine Band and No Doubt all in the same night.

The economy has hit us all guitarplayer. Even Mac it seems.

I'm struggling to care very much about the Bunnymen these days and this sort of thing just makes it worse. Can you all please confine your comments to gushing praise and sycophancy so I can summon up some enthusiasm to maybe buy a ticket for the gig in december.

I've got to compliment you on it. Some great walks on there. I did the Fairfield horseshoe yesterday, which was my first real big walk up there, and actually commented on the way round that we should take pictures and make some kind of blog. I've only just discovered the area, I've bought a couple of Wainwright's, and can't wait to tackle a few.
