Ouch.

Well at least it's not Chuck E Cheese for my kid's birthday.

After 1986 the Bunnymen were known by the press as 'The Buglemen' and the saying 'no snow,no show' was used by the tour entourage.Basically you can probably live with the singer being bongoed every night but not the singer, drummer, manager etc,etc..Add into that the fact that Mac as early as 84 wanted to split the band and go solo and there you have it.Cant remember U2 having lost weekends or having Bono make a ruck of solo demo's with Broudie. Its a bit like at art college where the most naturally talented guy drops out but the guy who goes on to make millions is the less talented but much harder working. So U2 will be more respected by the 'industry' but The Bunnymen will be remembered as having more talent.

Good points on the drug use.

There is the ever perpetual Mac wanting to go solo whenever they reach any level of mainstream success. That happened at least three times. 1984, 1988 and then again after Evergreen 1n 1999 or so when they almost broke up again because of it. Part ego and part listening to the wrong people.

I just heard the next U2 single on the radio and it is suprisingly very good and different
A throw back to their earlier days and Dog and Bones voice sounds really good

It sounds a bit like Janes Addiction

Queens Of The Stone Age Litetm
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Only one I heard of was Adama Clayton. Likes the herb 0 was arrested with a trunk full. And during the Pop tour drank so much he missed the filming of one of two nights and a roadie stood in. He hasn´t had a difficult bass line since October so no biggy. He went for alcohol abuse counseling.

When he drinks enough he's having seizures like ML Gore we'll talk.

Alcohol and weed? Please. Someone forget to tell him he's in a rock band?

That's a slow Thursday night for Dr. Cheese.

That´s how serious they take their jobs. That is why they still have one.

Think about it though - you can´t copy U2. you will look like either Coldplay or The Alarm.

Intimate gigs in small venues beat stadium rock any day. We are all lucky we can see the best band in the world doing their best ever gig at what amounts to the end of the pier show. (Brighton Concorde2, Flowers tour)

So I want to thank the band for totally ****ing up their career. I don't want to spend a week in a tent waiting for tickets to see a few stick figures a mile away, or be deafened by terawatt powered speakers if I am "lucky" enough to get closer.

The sheer improbability of a band with their level of talent, and a back catalog which amounts to most of the greatest songs ever written, playing small venues, makes me wonder if I am living in a simulation.

All they have to do to get famous on the scale of U2 is to play their greatest songs, songs hardly ever heard live if at all. It's amazing that they stick to such a set formula regarding the setlist.
