At his age and weight some acoustic strumming on a bar stool is preferable to having to front a (c)rock and roll show. To be fair he now has the gravelly voice, shades and chins to be indie's answer to Dean Martin's later career - I could see that and I'd probably even go along (though maybe not to a pizza gaff).

But he doesnt. He cant let the comfort blanket of Will and the Bunnymen brand go. Its easy money.

Cutting edge big guy.

I'm telling you guys his 2003 solo show was fucking amazing. He was playing guitar like it was 1982, dancing, seducing the crowd and showing off his voice which was was still strong back then. I loved every minute of it. That and an FB show are the two religious experiences of my life. Then I saw the Bunnymen a few months later and I was like who the fuck is this?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Christ I never realized this. It sounds like maybe he is not all that into performing with Will and only does it out of necessity.

I thought it was pretty obvious.

The feeling I get is they barely even communicate with each other. Will is passive at this point with the band (he's more into Glide and has that to fall back on when he actually wants to get creative, and he's got the DJ gigs), Ian is still going for the gold using the Bunnymen name. And yet I still can't wait for the new album. I guess I'm just a sucker.

Actually the Reverberation period Bunnymen even outshone the golden age of the first four albums-Noel Burke was the other great singer in the Bunnymen.

I really hope thats a joke
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

If that came from anyone but Dr. Evil I would think it was a joke.

I know you know we aren't as good as we used to be
Tell me how to me how to sing so I sound like me
I know you know we know I'm going down

Careful Guitarplayer I bet Jack made that joke sometime in the last 10 years and will soon be claiming it as his own.

yet you still count the days
A kite is a contract of glory
that must be made with the sun,
so you make friends with the field
the river and the wind,
then you pray the whole cold night before,
under the travelling cordless moon,
to make you worthy and lyric and pure.
