U2 has a website? Wow. Is that new? They must have stolen that idea from the Bunnymen!

looking at that url, I'm wondering if part of U2's success is due to the shortness of their name.

Nice looking website though. If a person was a dedicated U2 fan, they could spend a lot of time on there. Seems there's more to read than announcements of "U2 fanz [insert band name here] have done a covver version of I Will Folow. And we bring you a snippet to see what u fink" or "The bands new album will be owt in 2007/2008/2009 preceeded by the first sangle Get on Your Boots".

Their forum doesn't seem to be popular. Even Villiers Terrace can boast as an unofficial forum more threads and replies than the one for the supposedly biggest band in the world. I was looking for the umpteenth poll discussing U2's best album or whether Bono can sing now as good as he did it in the 80s. No female fans drooling over Bono. Have to have that, but there was nothing. Changed my mind, the U2 official website is shite.

no probs dave - that story was only partly autobiographical - haven't bought a house at all but had to shoehorn that joke in about the streets and the name somehow. As for your mate, I can sympathise, only was tescos night shift for me (I know, I should have seen it coming, the purple shirt, the allure of the baked bean stack, the word 'manager' even though he still spent most of his time on those beans). And though it may not be any consolation to him, it obviously wont last. at least she'll get fed up of explaining who/what steptoe is and just why two old blokes doing nothing much more than talking is much funnier than a bunch of 20-somethings saying shag and wank to each other - no matter how often they manage to say it in one half hour episode.

Chez.

ps I've been going down the gym for a couple of years now and no fit young bird has run off with me yet.

The whole site including the forum "rebooted" a few days ago for the new album.

They do it every now and then to hide the embarrassing fact there are so few I love Bono's beard threads
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm in constant contact with Bono. He has a little wish list of threads he would like me to start on the U2 forum.

So it sounds like the u2.com forum doesn't have a 40 plus page thread of eye-popping photos of its band members. Hmmmm.

How the typo quotient over there? How's their use of the apostrophe?

I heard the title track from their new album today (No Line on the Horizon) and can't get the song out of my head, even the spooky guitar riff that appears later in the song. That has not happened with anything that I have heard on first listen from the Bunnymen at all. Am I beyond help?.

Yes, I'm sorry. All kidding aside, The Edge is a pretty good guitarist, I think he's without a doubt the best part of the band, but for me, as soon as Bono opens his mouth I just can't do it. The guy is a jackass, no way around it and I just can't take his stage act and his messiah-complex, it's just embarrassing to watch.

Bono is O.K. but it was a bit cringe-worthy to see him in the crowd at the end of J.R's show. I doubt if even Mac could get away with that.

Like Mac "got away" with his "performance" on the second series of Fame Academy?

My wife and kids were laughing at me as I had gathered the whole family in front of the TV to watch a "living legend" (my own words) perform. Talk about car crash TV...
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.
