The string quartet and venue added a completely different dimension.
I've seen quite a few of his solo shows over the years and that was easily the best. It was fantastic.

Only the last song (lips) descended into a bit of farce after somebody shouted "Why are you playing in Israel?" and Mac responded "To be reunited with my foreskin". :)

Best of the night were Candleland, Rust, History Chimes, Fools like us and Start again.

It was an 'on form' night.

I have to say it was a very good show

Macca was, well very professional, he even looked healthy

Dare I say even enjoying himself

Great sound , good selection of songs, great company.

Glad I went

It was perfect, I'm still on a high. I didn't think he could surpass the cathedral in Jan but I think this was even better, maybe because I was in the second row. Great choice of songs, he looked gorgeous, sounded great, very funny between songs, beautiful setting. Rust made me cry as always. Lovely to see Mr & Mrs Bunnygod again and to meet the famous/infamous King of Kings!! He seems to be at his best in a place of worship with the strings to back him (Mac not KOK!)

Happy to hear it was a great show I knew Ian would turn it on for London.

If he did this caliber of show at every venue he would have a great act to take around the world - he has a solid fan base and could easily do it.

He needs strings and he needs to piss off fat Pete on stage - bad look and not a good musician.
Must save him money though . . . as well he gets his ass licked with a convenient punching blame bag to boot . . .bad manager & bad musician.

If only Ian could see this.

I hope there is some footage of the show as this one sounds like a beauty.
Wish I had been there . . .

Mmm, rum truffle.

Still think this kind of thing might work well for a Bunnymen gig, but not with them all seated. This would be ideal for any future Carnglaze Caverns gig, if it happens (). And Ian Broudie - perhaps he's the man to produce the next album, or ep-type release as Will has now suggested it will be in a recent interview.

What a fantastic gig.Rust was heavenly.God Im still pissed.Started in Brum half eleven on Saturday next to the Chelsea firm.Interesting ."Arsene Wenger's having a party....".Young kid on security looking nervous."What you going to do if it kicks off?"."erm....call for help!".Then basically after Euston managed to crawl around the whole of London in a stupor.Got sold £5 entry to an R'n'b club at one in the morning(dont laugh-they had a bar),got the eye off a bird who looked like Bobby Gillespie(!) and some bloke in a dubious pub told me he was "just cruising around"in the toilets.Me being naive just thought hed got lost!London eh??It was all too much so we left and walked all the way back to Kensington.Back to hotel they've stopped serving...."Lets gatecrash the wedding for a another drink".Only problem was...it was an asian wedding."erm we arent going to stand out here are we?"lol.
And apologies to a mother and daughter in the West End who I told the "the Lion king is shit because its just failed actors in smelly furry suits looking like twats".Turned out it was the daughters favourite film ever and she'd saved all her money up to take her Mom with her. They'll get over it.

Aaa-the first Bunnymen demo ever!

Me with the protesters outside
"Do you support the Bunnymen not going to Israel?"
"erm...exactly what difference is two musicians aged 50 not going to Israel going to make?"
"Lots"
"Will it f*ck and leave us alone!"

At the end someone shouted to MAc "Why are you going to Israel" to which he responded "to re-connect my foreskin with my knob".As I say, what differnence is Mac not going to Israel going to make?lol

They got protestors outside Bunnymen/Mac gigs now? Did they have banners and stuff, and a table full of poorly photocopied leaflets stating "JUST SAY NO! The Bunnymen performing in Israel will worsen Israeli-Palestinian relations, resulting in a major international incident. We beg all those attending this gig tonight to support our cause and sign our petition to prevent World War Three". More interesting than ticket touts or people selling crap knock-off t-shirts outside I guess.

I wished I'd gone now... Just looked at their facebook page. Six of the Sandis with banners. They reckon there were 15 and you lot were all supportive of their cause.

Well, the Bunnymen are just a week away from that date now. What are the Sandi brigade going to do afterwards...
